SASA (Self-Activated Studio for Artists) is a creative rehearsal and reflection platform developed by SASA Technologies Ltd. We are committed to protecting your privacy and handling your data responsibly, transparently, and in accordance with UK GDPR and the UK Children's Code (Age Appropriate Design Code).

2. Who Can Use SASA

SASA is available to users aged 13 and over.

Users aged 13 to 17 require parental or guardian consent before creating an account. By creating an account for a user under 18, a parent or guardian confirms they have read this Privacy Policy and consent to their child's use of the platform.

SASA does not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If we become aware that a user is under 13, we will delete their account and all associated data promptly.

5. Voice Recordings

Voice recordings made within SASA are stored securely within your account. They are used to power rehearsal and coaching features and to allow you to review your own progress.

Voice recordings are not shared with third parties except where required to operate the AI features of the platform (see Section 7 on Third Party Services).

You can delete your voice recordings at any time from within your account settings. If you delete your account, all voice recordings associated with your account will be permanently deleted.

6. Safeguarding and Under-18 Users

SASA has a built-in safeguarding system for all users under 18. This system monitors activity within the app for words, phrases or patterns that may indicate a user is in distress or at risk.

The system operates on a traffic-light basis:

Green

No concerns identified. Normal use continues.

Amber

The system has detected language that appears on our safeguarding watchlist. The parent or guardian linked to the account will be notified by email and encouraged to check in with their child. The specific content of what was said is not shared.

Red

The system has detected language that suggests the user may be at serious risk. The parent or guardian will be notified immediately by email and strongly encouraged to speak with their child. The specific content of what was said is not shared.

Parents and guardians are required to provide a valid email address when creating an account for a user under 18. This email address will only be used for safeguarding notifications and essential account communications. It will never be used for marketing.

We process this data on the basis of legitimate interests in protecting the safety and wellbeing of young users, and in compliance with our responsibilities under the UK Children's Code.

7. Third Party Services

To operate SASA's AI features, we use trusted third-party technology providers. These may include AI language model providers, voice processing services, and cloud hosting platforms.

All third-party providers are selected on the basis of their data protection standards and are bound by data processing agreements that restrict how they may use your data.

We will update this section as our technology stack is finalised. Current or planned third-party services will be listed here.

8. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored securely using industry-standard encryption and access controls. We take appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data against unauthorised access, loss, or disclosure.

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your personal data will be permanently deleted within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal or compliance reasons.
